Our Astronomy & Space Software

At Name a Star Live we like to make your star naming experience as interactive and educational as possible. This is why we partnered with Rice University to bring you Virtual Planetarium: Five Astronomy Programs in One. This software brings you the latest in space updates and imagery. You can choose to simply run the software from the disc or install it to download updates with the click of a button. This software comes with our Deluxe, Framed and Ultimate Gift Sets or is available for purchase on its own through our Facebook store.

The Five Modules

Astronomy Updates: This is the most visually pleasing module. Images of stars, galaxies, explosions are at your fingertips. Learn what elements cause the different colors you see in the pictures.

The Sky Tonight: Turn your computer into a planetarium then go stargazing. The software will automatically detect your latitude and you can scroll through by date to see what constellations are visible right outside your door.

Solar System Update: Learn about all the sizes, makeup and locations of the planets in the solar system and other celestial objects. Read about missions that have traveled to these places and browse images and videos of them as well.

Space Weather: The weather in space affects us here on Earth. Learn what happens when we get hit by solar wind and what causes auroras to happen.

Tic Tac Toe: Answer multiple choice questions on Mars, the Solar System or Space Weather to put your mark in a space. Answer wrong and the computer will win the space.
